Located in San José Province, Los Santos encompasses the renowned districts of Dota, León Cortés Castro, and Tarrazú. This highland region is widely regarded as Costa Rica’s most prestigious coffee area, shaped by volcanic soil, cool mountain air, and steady rainfall.

Blagu sources exclusively from Los Santos to preserve consistency in flavor and structure. From Handpicked Cherries to Clean Precision

Every cherry destined for Blagu Costa Rica Los Santos is hand-harvested at peak ripeness. At the end of each harvest day, the coffee is delivered directly to the wet mill, where processing begins without delay.

Through the night, cherries are depulped and thoroughly washed to remove all mucilage. The coffee is then sun-dried on patios before undergoing final low-temperature mechanical drying with controlled airflow. This careful sequence preserves clarity while protecting the bean’s internal structure — a hallmark of high-quality washed coffee.

The result is reliability without uniformity: each year delivering cups that are sweet, balanced, and expressive, while remaining unmistakably Los Santos.
